Week 3

This week we started filming our first training video. The first video will include the basic stretches you need and basic drills on how to pass using the inside and outside of the foot and also receiving a pass. Grant will film the video and I might have someone else pass me the ball so we can demonstrate. We also revised our proposal adding more detail on what the videos will include and how we will film the video. Currently we are working on editing the first video. We plan to make the video between 10-15 minutes. Our goal for next week is to make the second training video. The second video will consist of receiving balls out of the air and basic shooting. How to shoot with the laces of the cleats and bring down a ball that is in the air. We will also talk about basic positioning of the different players on the field.

This week we further improved our website by adding pictures and descriptions about our project. We organized our website with the different tabs we are going to have including the health tab and the tab were our videos will be uploaded to. Right now we are working on improving our website even further. We are trying to find the best way to upload our videos to our website. We are making a page on our website with our background information. After Thanksgiving we are planning to create our first training video. We are going to do it after school and we might have some beginner soccer players join us to demonstrate the drills. We will use Micheal Walkers tips that we got from our interview the previous week to create the video. We plan to start our first video with simple things for beginners and as the weeks go by we will make more advanced videos.

F.R.S.T First Post

This week we began our website. We used weebly.com, and we created our logo. We also had an interview with our mentor Micheal Walker. He is a soccer coach for TSC. He gave us tips about how to structure our videos. For the beginners he told us to spend more time on what part of the foot to use for each distinct movement and for people that have played for a long time to focus on how to beat a defender one on one. He also gave us tips on what each type of player needs to learn ( defender, midfielder, and attacker). He told us defenders need to know how to head the ball and have good defensive positioning. For midfielders he told us that they need a lot of conditioning and good first touches. For attackers he told us to work on teaching how to separate oneself from a defender and how to shoot the ball.
